National Diesel Engine ("NDE") is a leading independent heavy duty diesel engine remanufacturer, and has grown to become a trusted name in the trucking and heavy equipment industries.
Born Out of the Trucking Industry
We got our start in the trucking and equipment maintenance business. We quickly came to the realization that--even with over 30 pieces of our own equipment on the road and several customers' equipment to service--our talented mechanics still had a lot of free time on their hands.
To keep the mechanics busy, we decided to purchase old engine cores and rebuild them for stock, just in case one of our trucks broke down. Our belief, which still holds true to this day, was that having spare engines built and ready to go would reduce downtime--not to mention the stress--caused by a potential engine failure.
It wasn't long before it became evident that our great idea could help others as well. And so the concept for National Diesel Engine was born. We discovered that by building and storing some of the most common engines in long block stage, we could quickly--and cost effectively--do the final assemblies per our customers' specifications. It turned out to be a really good idea, because our customers loved it.
Word spread quickly, and we were quickly inundated with requests for remanufactured diesel engines from OTR trucking and heavy equipment companies everywhere. What started out as an idea to keep our best mechanics from getting bored has evolved into a business that has shipped engines to over 43 U.S. states and 33 countries around the world.
We've had the opportunity to remanufacture hundreds of heavy duty diesels over the years, shipping on average 3-4 remanufactured diesel engines per week. However, Instead of massive growth, we have made it our mission to remain focused on the things that got us here: our personal attention to detail and the workmanship that has made us the "go-to" guys in the industry.
